Morgan Shelly For Guess SA

GUESS, the global lifestyle brand famous for its iconic ad campaigns and trend-setting denim, will soon add a new, local name to its long and illustrious list of models. In December 2012, sixteen year-old Morgan Shelly will become the newest face of GUESS South Africa and its first local Brand Ambassador.

Born in South Africa, Morgan was discovered by a modelling agent at a water-polo match. Joining Boss Models at the age of 12, Morgan has since modelled for various publications. Although still in the early stages of her modelling career, the 174cm tall, brown-haired, green-eyed Rustenburg Girls’ High School girl was scouted by Stuart Marsh, GUESS SA Brand Director, to represent the global denim, apparel and accessory brand.

Selected for her undeniable embodiment of the GUESS brand, Morgan is a model worth watching. Endorsed by GUESS International, the drama student who loves skateboarding is set to become a part of one of the most iconic brands in the world.

One of my oldest friends got married this weekend to the man of her dreams and it was one of the happiest weddings I’ve been to in a long, long time. I always knew she would make a beautiful bride, I’m just super happy she found a husband who knows just how lucky he is. Hané and Constant, may you have a long and happy life together. Love you both. x

Mango Summer 2012

“MANGO, Spain’s most famous international fashion company, opened its sixth store in South Africa this month. With four retail stores in Gauteng and one store in the Western Cape, the Gateway Theatre of Shopping store marks the brand’s debut in Kwazulu Natal. Located in one of the country’s premium shopping malls, the store offers a 240 square metre floor of selling space.

The interior design of the new space mirrors that of the existing South African MANGO stores. Neutral tones and materials are used to create the perfect backdrop for the apparel and accessories which take centre stage. Conceptualized and constructed by the International Mango Interior Design Team, the Gateway store reflects the clean, natural and minimalist look of MANGO stores around the world.

As the number one shopping mall in Kwazulu Natal, Gateway Theatre of Shopping was the obvious choice for the first MANGO store in the region. Home to multiple international fashion brands such as GUESS and Zara, the centre affords MANGO the perfect retail environment and a relevant customer base. Launching with the MANGO Summer 2012 Collection, the new store will house the entire MANGO Collection for women; including the suit, casual and jeanswear ranges. The store will also stock a range of MANGO accessories including handbags, footwear, swimwear and jewellery.

The MANGO concept, based on an alliance between a quality product in accordance with the latest fashion trends and affordable prices, continues to succeed in the South African market. The new Gateway Theatre of Shopping space promises to align with this concept; representing a calling card for the MANGO brand and creating a dynamic image in accordance with the personality of its customers.”

Mango Gateway Launch

Roy and I went along to the Mango Gateway launch tonight and boy was it packed. Kerrin was wearing the most amazing green dress and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. Luckily for me it was hanging on a nearby rack. Tip for future launches people, get your staff to wear the merchandise because those dresses were flying out of there.

The current range is full of lush bright yellows, greens, oranges and blues. It was like a Benetton ad, only Mango. What I was most impressed with was the price, everything is super affordable compared to a lot of places I’ve been shopping lately. Seriously, I could go mad in there, luckily Roy was around to reign me in. If you’re heading to Gateway you should definitely pop in to Mango first.

Product images to follow on a separate post.
